Biking
Stokke Trail heads north from Highway 29 at the Red Cedar State Trail Visitor's Center. This 8/10 mile paved trail also runs along the Red Cedar River, passing the Swiss Miss Plant, home of the sweet treat Swiss Miss Cocoa that was invented in Menomonie in 1954. The Menomonie area also offers miles of country roads fit for biking. June brings the Tinman Triathlon to Menomonie, where athletes are challenged to swim Lake Menomin, run the streets of Menomonie, and bike the challenging hills of the western-Wisconsin countryside. Equipment rentals are available at Trailhead Sports, located near the Red Cedar State Trail.

Menomonie is the starting point
for a beautiful 14-mile bike ride along the Red Cedar State Trail.
This limestone-surfaced trail runs along the Red Cedar River from Menomonie to
the Chippewa River, where it connects with the Chippewa River Trail.
Keep watch for eagles, herons and other birds as you pass sandstone bluffs,
prairies, wetlands and wooded areas. There are picnic areas along the trail, and
a visitor's center located along Highway 29 in Menomonie. A trail pass is
required - purchase one at the Depot Visitor's Center for a daily fee of $4, or
$15 annually. If the Depot is closed, use the self-registration boxes at the
head of the trail.
